Days of Our Lives’ John and Marlena
For our very first Couple of the Week, we have chosen John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) from Days of Our Lives! This OG super couple first came together in 1986 and has defied soap opera odds to still be in love and devoted to each other 37 years later.
They’ve had more than their share of ups and downs over the decades but through it all, their love, and passion, for each other have remained. In January John thought he had lost his beloved “Doc” forever when Marlena succumbed to Orpheus’s (George DelHoyo) toxin and died…or so everyone thought. She was actually being held captive by Megan (Miranda Wilson) and John found her while he was hunting for the woman he blamed for his wife’s death.
They shared an emotional and joyous reunion before returning home to Salem and this week they spent their time reuniting Marlena with their kids and relishing being back together. John pampered his wife and treated her to an at-home spa day complete with a bubble bath that he ended up sharing with her fully clothed. John’s plan for them to enjoy whipped cream and strawberries may have gone awry as well but nothing could take the smile off of their faces now that they are finally reunited after thinking they had lost each other forever.
We hope John and Doc never stop defying those soap opera odds and never stop loving each other! We certainly will never stop loving them together! Enjoy this gallery of their romantic time together this week!
