Former Child Star Passes Away in U.S. Wildfire, Unable to Escape Due to Cerebral Palsy

The former child star tragically passed away at just 32 years old.

According to Page Six, former child star Rory Sykes died in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in the United States. He was 32 years old. Tragically, Rory, who suffered from cerebral palsy, was unable to escape the blaze. His mother, Shelley Sykes, shared the heartbreaking news and details of the incident on social media. When the fire reached their home, Shelley was unable to extinguish the flames on the roof because the water supply had been cut off.

Rory, who had great difficulty moving due to his condition, was trapped in the home. Shelley, who had a broken arm, was unable to carry him to safety. In his final moments, Rory reportedly said, “Mom, leave me behind.” Shelley rushed to the local fire department for help, but when she returned, it was too late. Rory had succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning from the fire.

Rory Sykes, an Australian of British descent living in the U.S., was a former star of the 1990s show Kiddy Kapers. Born with cerebral palsy, he faced numerous health challenges. His mother shared that Rory had endured many surgeries and therapies to regain his eyesight and learn how to walk. Despite his struggles, he remained enthusiastic about traveling the world with his mother, visiting places like Africa and Antarctica.

Rory and Shelley founded the Happy Charity organization to assist others facing similar challenges. Rory also became a motivational speaker at the age of 8, inspiring others to overcome difficulties.

The tragic death of the former child star has left the public shocked and deeply saddened.
