Princess Beatrice gives birth to 2nd baby with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their second child together, daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, on Jan. 22.
The royal family’s Instagram account shared the news on Wednesday, with the first photo of the newborn taken by Mozzi, 41.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57pm,” the account read.
Athena was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.
“The King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” the message continued. “Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.”
“Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna,” the royal family added.
The Princess of York, 36, welcomed her first child — a baby girl named Sienna — with her husband on Sept. 18, 2021.
Both of Beatrice’s daughter’s middle names are Elizabeth, as a nod to Beatrice’s late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Mozzi is also a proud dad to 8-year-old son Christopher “Wolfie” Mapelli Mozzi, whom he shares with ex Dara Huang.
Buckingham Palace announced in October 2024 that Beatrice was pregnant with her second child.
“Her Royal Highess Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna,” the palace wrote in a statement on social media.
“👑 His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news,” the statement concluded.
Beatrice’s new daughter is 11th in the line of succession to the British throne. Beatrice is ninth in line, her first daughter is 10th in line, and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, 34, is 12th in line.
Last month, Beatrice and Mozzi canceled their Christmas trip to Italy due to her pregnancy.
The couple were supposed to join Mozzi’s parents in Italy, but because of medical advise that Beatrice received, they stayed in England and joined the rest of the royal family at Sandringham on Christmas.
Beatrice and Eugenie are the daughters of Prince Andrew, 64, and Sarah Ferguson, 65. The former couple were married for six years before they separated in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in 1996.
